The Digital Technology team is looking to add a Lead Full Stack Engineer to a team involved in developing Chatbots for Customer Service and Support. This position requires someone who is a passionate learner, an independent thinker, works well collaboratively across multiple disciplines, and is comfortable working with a variety of people and technology stacks. Your work will be used by customers all over the world and enable Thomson Reuters in providing AI enabled self service experiences.
About the Role
As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will:
- Design and Develop –
- Lead analysis, design, and implementation planning of the Chatbot technical solution by understanding user needs,
- Translating the business requirements to technical specifications and design approaches using the various tools, define implementation approaches
- Prototype and recommend the technology solutions, detailing the implementation design and identifying interfaces with other products for integration
- Build complex chatbot solutions for scale, performance, stability and security
- Ensure code quality, conducting validation/testing and executing full SDLC from design through release
- Be a Team Player – work in a collaborative team-oriented environment, share information, value diverse ideas, partner with cross functional and remote teams
- Be Curious & Innovative – continuously update yourself with next generation technology, development tools, and contribute to process development practices

About You
You’re a fit for the role of Lead Full Stack Engineer if you have:
Basic qualifications:
- 6+ years of hands on full stack development experience
- building web interfaces and applications leveraging modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks like React Redux, AngularJS, jquery
- building java/C/C++/node.js multi-threaded applications utilizing various libraries, accessing data sources and exposing services.
- 2 years experience designing, building and implementing Chatbots using popular frameworks like Dialogueflow, Microsoft Bot Framework or Kore.ai
- Multi-stack development covering front-end/server-side development technology stacks
- Expert knowledge of TypeScript and popular libraries & frameworks
- Experience with micro-services and RESTful API designs
- Excellent proficiency interpreting and transforming graphic visuals from Sketch into user interaction designs using Node JS, HTML, CSS, JQuery and JavaScript
- Managing code and changes in a team environment to include experience with source control utilities, such as Git, Node + npm
- Development with compliance to specified standards such as accessibility standards in the clients’ region or domain.
- Design and develop for performance, operations and supportability
- Testing accessibility, cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies.
- Senior leadership interaction and collaborating within geographically and culturally diverse Agile scrum teams
- Expert design skills including significant knowledge of core libraries and common design patterns
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work effectively and independently
- Able to provide technical guidance and oversight to junior team members
- Customer first approach to software development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, business analysts, product owners, management, and senior leadership)
- Design and develop for performance, operations and supportability
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience building chatbots using Kore.ai framework
- Mobile development experience (e.g. ReactNative, Flutter, Swift, Mobile Angular, NativeScript)
- Cloud technology experience (e.g. AWS, Azure), or Docker is an advantage.
- Leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, setting technical goals, and delegating tasks
