Conversational Commerce

The Conversational Commerce team within Store No8 is reimagining how families shop and manage their households. With a focus on voice and text customer experiences, this team is hard at work designing new products that simplify the shopping experience and integrate naturally into a customer’s routine.

About the Role

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager for our Shopping product team who will focus on the Search & Discoverability of items using voice and messaging modalities. As a hands-on individual contributor and leader for your given product area, you will define the roadmap, write requirements, and lead the build out of market leading innovative Search and Discovery features.  

You will help customers find the items that most directly fit their needs in a fast, convenient manner that beats traditional eCommerce flows. You will define how customers shop with voice and messaging modalities for items that are research oriented like sports equipment; for inspirational items like home and fashion; and for everyday items like groceries. Discoverability encompasses how a user finds, researches, and determines which item to buy, then adds to cart.

You should be an experienced product manager and evangelist with proven skills in building and optimizing best in class eCommerce shopping experiences with a metrics-driven approach.  To be successful, you’ll need to be highly independent, resourceful, detail-oriented, and comfortable flexing between the strategic and the tactical, and preferably have experience with 0 to 1 product development.

What You’ll Do

Define, update, and drive the product roadmap of your areas - including writing PRDs, defining product specs from ideation through design, building, releasing, and analyzing performance post-release. Lead the development team day-to-day as the main product stakeholder, including active leadership in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and more.  Partner with product and design teammates to push the envelope on creating the best user experience. Define and monitor metrics for shopping features and relate feature prioritization to product performance and business impact. Conduct customer research and translate their needs into priorities and business impact.

What You’ll Need

  • 6+ years’ experience working in a product management role bringing consumer-facing products to market. Extra points for experience in eCommerce Search and in start-ups.
  • Ability to achieve strategic goals and evolve product roadmaps based on research, data and industry trends in an innovative and fast-paced environment. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent quantitative skills: demonstrated ability to combine data-driven analytical rigor with strategic thinking to drive insights. 
  • Superb communication of concepts and ideas to stakeholders at all levels. Comfort with ambiguity.
  • Ability to manage projects with minimal guidance; you will set the agenda for yourself with only occasional input from your manager.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, leadership, product marketing.
