Amelia is looking for an experienced conversation designer with a strong background in client management, business processes, and design thinking. You have a portfolio of work with content that enhances and simplifies the overall user experience, ideally with some examples of interactive/ conversational copy. You’ve worked with, or as, a UX/UI designer, developing

creative visual storytelling to accompany copy. You’re no stranger to shepherding clients away from bad ideas and you’re adept at navigating a range of personalities and working styles.

Our product, Amelia, is a conversational AI platform that works with people to resolve real problems and needs. Amelia interprets users’ natural language, infers intent and context, applies logic, integrates into enterprise data systems, executes tasks, and more. Depending on the project, Conversation Designers may be involved in all aspects of the Amelia lifecycle — from blank canvas possibilities through concept prototyping to client discovery,

implementation, and maturation. Successful Conversation Designers are comfortable with the unexpected, never losing enthusiasm or a keen determination to produce results.

As a Conversation Designer at Amelia, you will:

  • Have meaningful influence on the organization: we’re searching for someone to push our thinking on Amelia’s value to current and future clients in various industries around the world.
  • Foster user-centered design and research culture, values, and methodologies.
  • Support multiple concurrent client projects and a small team of colleagues.
  • Mine insights and opportunities through workshops, research, and interviews.
  • Design business processes led by an understanding of both business requirements as well as end user wants and needs.
  • Develop conversational copy; plan, write and edit dialogue that makes Amelia better than human.
  • Review client chat logs, transcripts, recordings, and research to improve
  • implementations.
  • Work towards continual process improvement, measurement, and benchmarking, with the goal of scaling solutions across industries.
  • Uphold and evolve internal knowledge creation, content standards, and best practices.


  • 4+ years working in experience design for conversations
  • 4+ years working with and managing clients and senior leaders
  • Experience with the rapid development of user journeys, storyboards or content strategy
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities with tight deadlines
  • Strong writing or editorial experience
