A Moving Experience.

We are looking for a motivated senior research application scientist to join us design, develop and maintain the next generation Japanese natural language understanding (NLU) system for the automotive and mobility markets.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Development of the NLU pipeline
  • Development of new use cases and features in NLU
  • Define and refine annotation specifications
  • Develop and maintain dictionaries, grammar rules and annotations.
  • NLU and end-to-end accuracy improvements
  • Responding to QA and customer reported issues
  • Contribute to team effort to improvement of entire NLU system

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Masters in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Native speaker of Japanese; near-native speaker of English is a plus
  • Experience in NLP, especially natural language understanding;
  • Programming skills (especially scripting to support research experiments)

Preferred skills

  • Machine learning
  • Programming experience with Python or Java,
  • Proficiency in additional human languages a plus
