Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and innovative, user-focused conversational interfaces for a bespoke and complex enterprise voice solution
  • Create grammars and interaction models (intents, utterances, slots, and slot values) based on business requirements and customer insights
  • Design end-to-end conversational interactions, including what can go wrong, and how
  • Create and iterate on thorough, accurate flow diagrams and other related documentation to communicate the behavior of a complete conversational system
  • Write dialog and other related copy for conversational experiences that align with best practices and brand
  • Understand how data from API calls, databases, and NLP technologies fit into the design and collaborate with developers on solutions
  • Work directly with developers, integrators, architects, and QA to build and iterate on your designs
  • Collaborate and work alongside UX/UI interface designers
  • Drive solutions from design workshop to production, from conception to prototype to production-level experience
  • Engage in workshops, design reviews, and client meetings to align and communicate information
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, user stories, estimates, and road mapping
  • When needed, design and participate (potentially lead) different types of testing (A/B, focus groups, usability testing, QA), synthesize results and iterate based on results to ensure customer-centric and highly usable products
  • Educate internal colleagues and stakeholders (developers, salespeople, and other collaborators) so that the entire team understands key tenets of conversation design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in cognitive science, linguistics, user experience design, or relevant experience
  • Minimal 2+ years of experience in conversation design
  • Experience developing interaction models using conversational platforms
  • Experience communicating technical requirements and solutions to internal and external audiences
  • Design for multimodal (voice + visual) user experiences by wireframing and including visual elements
  • Experience conducting and/or participating in user research
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and process to ensure a quality product
  • Experience with Sketch, Confluence, and JIRA tools is a plus
  • Experience with working directly with client stakeholders of all levels
  • This is a customer-facing role with an opportunity for full remote work, work hours will be on Eastern Standard Time
